Microsoft has used in the past three years of "maneuvers" aggressive international tax to avoid paying taxes by at least $ 6.5 billion in the United States, according to a report by a committee of the U.S. Senate, published before a hearing in Washington.

Senate investigations subcommittee chairman, Carl Levin, Democrat of Michigan, do not blame companies that have acted illegally.
"These abuses generates huge costs. Such schemes transferring the tax burden for citizens and companies have armies of lawyers and accountants," said Levin.
Spokespersons Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard have not commented on the information.
